Exquisite Heart Favor!

Saturday, June 13th, 2009

What could be more romantic than a ceremony held in the month of Februrary? That’s what I decided to do, have a ceremony and reception filled with one of the most adorned symbols of love throughout our ceremony and reception party. I started it off with the loveliest tiara that I ran across online. In fact I found quite a few super accessories like gorgeous invitations that are perfect for the love theme I wanted. The invitations I sent out were little cards with two little silver hearts on the front. The inside was very pretty to look at, and it had everything printed out in there already when we received them, so all we had to do was write in the place and time and we were all set.
Inviting people, of course, was just the first phase, so I went right from that onto setting up the overall look and feel of the wedding, and then gathering together the supplies and accessories to make it work. I bought large scarlet bows made of velvet to put on the church pews with a ribbon that would run from one pew to the next. The altar was beautifully decorated, with wonderful candle holders and candles, including our unity candle which was adorned with a heart made of red roses. There were also red and pink roses to help with the décor of the wedding site and red and white roses in my bridal bouquet. It may have been a touch extravagant, but I’ve always wanted to have doves released as we left the church building, so we did, and it I thought it was wonderful.
This turned out to be one of the most wonderful hearts wedding ceremonies ever and our guests were so impressed with the releasing of the doves and all the flowers and hearts we had decorated the church with. I even wore a beautiful little heart diamond my mom and dad gave me for our wedding ceremony. I was pretty sure when I thought of this, that a heart weddings theme would be excellent, but I had no idea it would be this excellent. Not only was our ceremony beautiful, but so was our reception. There was a big red heart hanging just above the band and a cupid ice sculpter on the banquet table. Everything was perfect, right down to the wedding favor heart gifts we gave to our friends and family as thank you gifts.

The tables that our reception each had a floral arrangement of pink, red, and white roses with small hearts mixed in with them in the center of the table. We placed two hearts wedding candles on each table in order to create the ambiance of romance that I wanted to achieve, and they were accompanied by the what I considered to be the best place card holders available. I picked out small silver bells with handles in the form of a heart to give each of our guests as a present that would be a memento of our wedding. There were frosting hearts all around the bottom layer of our wedding cake, and each layer was decked out in pink and red roses all around. On top sat our very special keepsake hearts wedding cake topper made of white porcelain, which looked so elegant with all the other cake decorations.
Our entire wedding day called to mind love and Valentine’s Day, filled with flowers and hearts galore. Thank goodness for the world wide web, which certainly saved me a ton of time and hassle.

Bridal Fashion and Accessories!

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

As soon as we had a definite date for the wedding, I sat down in front of my computer and did a little online shopping for my bridal accessories. I couldn’t believe all the fantastic wedding items for ceremonies and receptions they had. They didn’t cost half as much as I expected them to cost and the quality and style was so in the perfect bridal fashion of any bride today. I really fell in love with the bridal hair accessories they had available. There were gorgeous hair combs and tiaras, and choosing the mone for me  was a decision I’d have to think on for a while, besides I had other things I had to take care of first.
To start with we decided that we wanted to have a theme wedding and we agreed to make it a beach themed wedding and reception. We’ve always lived near the water, even as kids and it has been a favorite place of ours and our friends for years.
So the first thing I did was to order the beach themed wedding invitations and get them in the mail as soon as possible. All the guests we invited said they would be there and that they can hardly wait to watch us walk down the aisle. Now, since the invitations were taken care of, I could concentrate on ordering the personal accessories I wanted for my wedding. I was surprised at all the accessories they carried for weddings and receptions, and I shop online quite a bit. I saw a gorgeous tiara and hair comb in the selection, and I just had to have them. I also found wedding jewelry that I really wanted to wear for my ceremony. My wedding dress and the lovely necklace and earring set I ordered for my wedding day looked fantastic together. It was so beautiful with little pearls and glistening crystals, it looked fantastic.
Great selection of bridal  supplies and the low cost really made this shopping worth while. There were even a lot of honeymoon accessories available that I ordered. A short wedding dress would have probably been the wiser choice, since we were getting married on the beach, but I had to have my full length dress. My bridesmaids and flower girl wore knee length satin dresses with spaghetti straps to help keep them cool and comfortable. They were all so elegant, they could have been on the cover of a bridal magazine.
There were torches around the reception area and the dance floor was lit up with little white lights we had strung around. On the reception tables there were seashells and starfish scattered about and place card holders that were adorable little sailboats. The wedding favors I chose were lovely photo frames with a beach design, because I thought they were so pretty and I know that’s something that they can always use. I think the picture frames I chose were to their liking.
On the bride and groom table were our toasting flutes, lovely candles in their beach theme holders and lots of lovely tealights. Our wedding cake topper was especially designed for a beach wedding just as all our other accessories for our reception. A man and woman taking a casual walk on the shore was the wedding cake topper I chose for our reception. I’m so glad they had all the supplies and bridal accessories we needed to plan the perfect beach wedding and reception. For those that weren’t into seafood, we made sure we had plenty of steaks and chicken for them. We all had a wonderful time enjoying good food and good music to dance too. It was a little sad when we had to leave for our honeymoon and everyone was still partying it up.
After we returned from our honeymoon, I had to get down to writing all the thank you notes to our guests. My beach themed picture album has all the memories within its beautiful covers for me to enjoy anytime I want to look back on our special beach wedding and reception.
