All the reception tables were set up with lovely mikasa crystal accessories at a wedding I attended last week. The place settings were so lovely with all the mikasa wedding favorsand gorgeous mikasa crystal glassware. The bride decorated her whole wedding and all the reception tables with such excellent taste. With all the mikasa accessories she had on the tables, it was a picture of elegance.
They had little silver doves as the place card holders, and on the end of their tails were little place cards with a bride and groom printed on them. Her centerpieces were quite lovely too and really helped to bring out the ambience of all the accessories she had decorated the tables with. The exquisite pillar candles she had for her centerpieces were so lovely with the floral ring around them. They gave out fantastic party favors for everyone at the reception. Each one of us received beautiful mikasa crystal wedding favors. They chose lovely little gift boxes with hang tags that said thank you to package our gorgeous mikasa crystal favors in.
Their wedding cake was another spectacular sight to behold with five layers of luscious chocolate with chocolate cream cheese in between each layer. She topped the wedding cake with a very exceptional wedding cake topper. Since she ordered most of her wedding supplies and decorations from an online wedding store, she decided to check out the cake toppers too, and found out they customize wedding cake toppers. They make figurines that look just like the bride and groom for the topper and all it takes is sending them a couple head shots of the happy couple. It looked just like them. I was determined to find out what the name of her online wedding store was so I could have them make up a cake topper like that for my mom and dads’ anniversary wedding.
The garter toss was really a riot, I laughed so hard. All those single men gathered together with a growing excitement while they watched the groom remove the leg garter from his bride. All of them were reaching and pushing into each other with the sole objective of being the one to take home the brides garter. One guy didn’t want to be in the garter toss contest, but the other guys persuaded him to do so, and this sweet little widower in his 70’s walked away with the lace garter. There was a big smile on the old mans face as he walked off with the garter in his hand.
For the bridal toast we all had crystal champagne flutes, that we were also given to take home, with the names of the bride and groom, and date of the wedding printed on them. As soon as the toast was finished, the happy couple took to the dance floor for the traditional bride and grooms first dance. Watching them dancing together, so elegantly, was so moving. The floor quickly filled up with couples right after the wedding couple finished their first dance. I think I over extended myself on the dance floor, my feet ached so badly.
We all wished the bride and groom good luck as they left for their honeymoon. Hawaii was the honeymoon destination, from what I was told by one of the guests. They’ll have a honeymoon to equal this fabulous wedding and reception. The remaining guests stayed behind for hours and continued to party.
A couple of weeks later, I received a thank you note from the bride and groom for the wedding gift and for attending. She must have sent out her thank you cards as soon as she got back from her honeymoon. By the way, I did find out how she could afford a mikasa favor and that fantastic cake topper. I’m ordering what I need for my parents anniversary wedding party today.
