We go through a lot of days that we’d like to remember forever in our lifetimes. There is your bridal shower, wedding day, baby showers and so many more ocassions you want to hang on to the memories of. I keep these memories alive with my photo memory books, which are some of my most treasured possessions. I have one photo wedding book devoted to the bridal shower my sister put on for me with some of my friends. It was a fantastic night, and there are plenty of photographs to prove it. The pretty things they had arranged at the party and the exciting places we went to, that evening, were all caught on film. The pictures we have really show just how outrageous that night became . Some of the exotic male dancers we saw posed for a couple of shots. They knew how to work the crowd. That was my only foray into the world of exocitc dancers, and it was memorable. They may not have been in Playgirl, but they were definitely worth seeing.
One of the things I picked out when I was buying things for our wedding was a memory book. I’m glad I got one with as many pages as I did. As a matter of fact, we had so many that I bought a pair of them, and it turns out that we needed both of them. I ran out of space in the albums before the pictures were all filed. One album had a space for our wedding guests to write their names in it. We had my first initial and my husband’s first initial flanking the initial of our last name on the cover of our personalized memory books. The ribbon made of satin and the special fabric made the album have a very classy touch. We had to get more pages for them, and they offer a supply for that too.
A lot of life-changing events are recorded in my photo albums. I’m sure as the years progress I’ll have even more keepsake memory books filling up my closet shelves. Baby shower books, a wedding book, and the one from that bachelorette party are the ones that I have currently. My daughter will be three in a few days and my son is only one. My son has a blue book and my daughter has a pink one; we got the right colors because we found out what they’d be before they were born. Their first step and christening and so forth are in the books. I also keep their birth certificates and footprints in their baby memory books along with several pictures of their beautiful little faces. I also put an invitation in the shower books and wedding photo book too. I could open up a photo gallery with all of the pictures I have stored away.
In spite of my husband’s frequent grumbling, I will keep those albums in my closet, because they are mementos of days that were special to me. With the new video camera I just bought, it’s going to be a little different, because now I have to clear room on some shelves in the den for the videos I’ll be making. I’ll probably have to make a lot more room, considering all the memory books we have and the ones I’ll be collecting through the next few years, plus plenty of videos of the kids growing up. What can I say, my recollections of the past mean a lot to me. The years ahead with our children are memories I want to hang on to for the rest of my life, and I definitely intend to.
