The Search For Summer Weddings!

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

It was a lot easier than I thought it would be to plan my outside wedding and reception. In fact, it didn’t cost as much as an indoor wedding would have cost us. Since we had the beauty of nature all around us, it wasn’t too expensive to decorate. The first thing on my agenda was to find that perfect place to hold our summer wedding and reception party. I could have had our wedding ceremony on the beach, with a fun filled beach party reception, or an elegant garden party, but I chose a ceremony and reception in the park. I found several perfect parks that would work fine for our wedding day.

Since I never planned a wedding like this before, I needed all the help I could get. When you plan to be married in the great outdoors, it seems you have to have a backup plan just in case the weather turns from sunny to pouring buckets. It’s a good idea to have a tent ready to continue your ceremony if it becomes necessary.

We had canopies arranged for our reception and barring bad weather, planned to be wed under a lovely trellis. The only real decorations I needed were those for my wedding table and the guests reception tables. About all I needed were a extra flowers and my table settings, thanks to the already present beauty of the park. I thought artificial flowers would be best, since we didn’t want a bee invasion ruining our ceremony. You couldn’t tell they were artificial they were so beautiful, they looked like the real deal. Planning this wedding wasn’t all that hard, but there was a little more than I expected. You want to make sure you have plenty of citronella candles scattered about, and that the rest rooms are within walking distance, and make sure your frosting on your cake doesn’t melt in the heat.

There was a variety of accessories available for the outdoor reception. I had little park bench place card holders at each table setting, and little citronella votive candles in glass globes with a nice flower arrangement as our centerpieces. I found very decorative favor boxes and used them to package the chrome bottle openers we bought for our friends and family as a summer favor. For our wedding table, of course, was our fabulous wedding cake with a very unique wedding cake topper.

I saw this cake topper when I was checking out all the wedding accessories they had to offer, and I knew this was the topper I wanted. They do customizing for the bride and groom. After I sent them a head shot of my fiance and myself they made our bride and groom topper to look exactly like us. What a wonderful momento of our wedding day. Everyone at the reception had something to say about how unique it was. All the wonderful accessories I ordered for our reception and wedding ceremony came from the same place, including our champagne flutes and silver cake set. It was amazing all the super accessories you can buy online.

Everything at the wedding and reception were fantastic. The weather cooperated and we never had to go to plan “B” with the tents. The DJ we hired was really exceptional and I’m sure that the music played on long after my new husband and I left for our honeymoon. Everyone commented on what a lovely ceremony and super reception we had. I’m so glad I decided to go with a wedding in the park. If we should decide somewhere down the line to have a renewal wedding ceremony, I think I’d like to have it in the park again.

The Perfect Leather Wedding Photo Album!

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

After it was decided that we were going to have a beach wedding, I went shopping for accessories and supplies with a beach theme in mind. First things first, I bought our beach themed wedding invitations. Since I had a couple of invitations I had to do over again, I was really glad I bought extra. Now that the invitations were in the mail, it was time to find my beautiful beach wedding dress. I looked at several dresses and gorgeous full length gowns, but really couldn’t make up my mind. I fell in love with two of the floor length gowns, but wasn’t quite sure if it would be uncomfortable to wear to a beach wedding. I picked out a gorgeous spaghetti strapped dress made of satin and lace with beautiful little beads scattered around it, in a knee length.

My bridesmaids looked so lovely in their haltered beach dresses of cool linen with a crocheted bodice. All the groomsmen wore linen white shirts and sand colored pants and my husband, to be looked so handsome in his blue linen shirt and white pants. Our flower girl wore an adorable little sundress and the ringboy stayed nice and cool in his little khaki shorts and white cotton shirt. All of the wedding party looked great in their wedding attire and the flower arrangements for our bouquets were the most gorgeous I’ve ever seen.

I wish now, with all the photos of our wedding being taken, that I would have bought two albums for wedding, instead of only one. I want pictures of everything and everyone at our wedding, all the gorgeous decorations, and our lovely reception. I was sure to let the photographer know I wanted plenty of photos of our vow exchange under our satin canopy and lovely flowered arch. When the ceremony was over, my new husband and I went to our hotel room to change into some more comfortable beach outfits. Although a few of our wedding party went home to change into their beach clothes, there were some that decided to just wear their swimsuits under their wedding clothes. We told all of our guests to dress casually.

Our guests seemed impressed with the wedding accessories for our reception tables that were done in a beach themed décor. The place I shopped not only had the beach wedding album I wanted, but so many more accessories to go with it. The little beach chairs I found worked out perfectly as place card holders and they made great little picture frames too. I really liked them and I’m sure our guests did too. The beach wedding favors I chose for our guests made the perfect little thank you gifts. The little tea lights I chose were in the shape of miniature sand castles and to help them keep the memory of our wonderful beach reception. I found quite a bit of accessories and decorations for our beach themed reception tables and the bride and groom table as well. They had the perfect crystal stemware, serving set for the wedding cake, wine glasses and a gorgeous beach themed cake topper.

Some of the guests were commenting on the gorgeous décor of our reception tables. To help add to the atmosphere, I also bought some of their beautiful gel candles and placed them on all the tables, along with a few tiki torches here and there. Planning this beach wedding and reception was a lot easier than I thought it would be, with all the accessories and supplies they had. It couldn’t have been a more perfect dream wedding and reception, with the gorgeous ocean as our background and the warm sand under our feet.

Now I can look through our special beach wedding photo album and enjoy that day once again.

Choosing the Right leather wedding photo album!

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

I started shopping for my themed accessories and supplies as soon as we were sure we were having a beach wedding. The first thing to get was the invitations for our beach themed wedding. I made sure I had plenty of extra invitations, just in case I had to rewrite some of them, and it’s a good thing I did. After I got the invitations out of the way, my next step was finding the right dress for a beach wedding. I looked at several dresses and gorgeous full length gowns, but really couldn’t make up my mind. The full length bridal gowns were so beautiful, but I was afraid they may be too uncomfortable for a beach wedding. I found a beautiful beaded knee length dress made of light weight materials of satin and lace, with spaghetti straps for my wedding.

My bridesmaids looked so lovely in their haltered beach dresses of cool linen with a crocheted bodice. My handsome groom wore a sky blue linen shirt and white linen pants and his groomsmen wore white linen shirts with sand colored linen pants. Our flower girl wore an adorable little sundress and the ringboy stayed nice and cool in his little khaki shorts and white cotton shirt. I found the most lovely flower bouquets for the bridesmaids and myself, and the entire wedding party looked absolutely perfect.

I wish now, with all the photos of our wedding being taken, that I would have bought two leather wedding albums, instead of only one. I want pictures of everything and everyone at our wedding, all the gorgeous decorations, and our lovely reception. I was sure to let the photographer know I wanted plenty of photos of our vow exchange under our satin canopy and lovely flowered arch. Directly after the ceremony we left to change into more suitable beach wear for the reception party. In fact a few of the bridesmaids and groomsmen also left to change, while others just wore swim suits under their wedding attire. I wrote on all the invitations to dress in casual clothing for this wedding.

Our reception was such a big success, and everyone complimented us on our gorgeous wedding accessories and how lovely all of our tables were. I bought everything for our tables at the same place I bought our lovely beach themed wedding album. The little beach chairs I found worked out perfectly as place card holders and they made great little picture frames too. The guests seemed to like them, and I thought they were just adorable. They also had beach wedding favors that I just had to have for our guests. The little tea lights I chose were in the shape of miniature sand castles and to help them keep the memory of our wonderful beach reception. I found quite a bit of accessories and decorations for our beach themed reception tables and the bride and groom table as well. Not only did I find the perfect wedding cake topper, but I also bought their beach themed crystal flutes, wine glasses, cake serving set and so much more.

A lot of our friends and family made comments about out lovely reception décor. I added some tiki torches everywhere and put gel candles on all of our guests wedding reception tables to help add a touch of atmosphere to everything. With all the accessories and supplies for the wedding and beach party reception, it made planning so much easier. The beautiful ocean whitecaps and the warm sandy beach made the perfect dream wedding and reception location.

Now I can look through our special beach wedding photo album and enjoy that day once again.

I’m in love with these new favors!

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Things sure have changed since my wedding day, especially the fantastic accessories and reception supplies available. It’s amazing what is out there and the variety you can choose from. If you want a beach party wedding you can find beach party accessories like beautiful little seashells and starfish, just to name a couple. There were also some pretty clever ideas for garden and other summer and spring weddings and receptions. You could get beautiful new wedding accessories for all 4 seasons. I know the winter wonderland wedding supplies were absolutely exquisite with that gorgeous sparkle of the winter season. Did you know that some couples actually have a winter wedding outside? To me having a wedding in the winter outside would be a beautiful site to see and yet a little way out of the norm. If I were planning a wedding it would have to be indoors and not outside in the cold. The best place for a winter wedding would be in a setting with a warm cozy fire and warm atmosphere.

An autumn wedding is so gorgeous and one of my favorite seasons, and has lot to offer in wedding accessories and reception supplies. Autumn is the best season for me and the best time to have a wedding, with it’s colorful background as your main motif. My wedding day was so long ago that the choices we had were being married in the church or running away and getting married. Times have changed so much that you can plan your wedding day to be what you want it to be. There are even destination weddings, where you have a few close friends and family go along to the location of your choice for you ceremony. It seems like a great way to escape for all the friends and family. You can choose from a terrific new favor selection – they have everything from old style weddings to long distance weddings.

In a few months my daughter will be married and I offered to help her plan her wedding and she decided to have a country western wedding. I would of never guessed that a country western wedding would be so great until I helped my daughter plan hers. She found cake toppers that have a western theme to them, plus everything she needed for her bridal table, including western champagne flutes. They’re really quite unique looking. She’s set up a country band, barbecue grills and hay bales that will be part of the party decor. There will be lights and lanterns strung throughout the reception, giving it that western look. Also she purchased centerpieces and name card holders that are western style. It amazed me when I found out that they were having the wedding at a ranch because I never heard of renting one for a special occasion before. She ordered quite a few wedding accessories online that will go perfectly with the country western theme. She ordered delightful new party favors for all their friends and family and cowboy hats for the bride and groom.

Instead of a normal reception it is looking more like a family get together that has hayrides and outdoor grills. Which when I think of it, sounds like a pretty good time for all. I was surprised to hear that they are going to have a barn dance in a good ole country western style. After hearing all this I knew I had to go to the store and get blue jeans, cowboy boots and a cowboy hat so that I could join in the fun and excitement. This is going to be a wedding to remember and will be talked about for years to come. Our daughter’s wedding was so much fun, that I’m considering have a country western renewal ceremony and reception for our anniversary.

Finding the right summer wedding favors!

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Planning an outside wedding wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be. It wasn’t as expensive as an indoor wedding would have been. Since we had the beauty of nature all around us, it wasn’t too expensive to decorate. The first thing on my agenda was to find that perfect place to hold our summer wedding and reception party. Instead of having our wedding ceremony and reception on the beach or in a garden, I chose to have it in the park. I was surprised at all the parks available for weddings.

I wasn’t really sure where to start, so I shopped around for some much needed suggestions. I found out you need to have a plan B, in case inclement weather unexpectly arises. A tent was suggested just in case the weather turns out badly.

We had canopies arranged for our reception and barring bad weather, planned to be wed under a lovely trellis. I only had to get decorations for my bridal table and the reception tables for our friends and family. About all I needed were a extra flowers and my table settings, thanks to the already present beauty of the park. By using artificial flowers I thought we may be able to avoid any univited guests, like bees. The only way you could tell that the flowers were artificial, was by touch, they were beautiful. The wedding was easier than I originally thought it would be, but there were a lot of things to consider. You have to make sure your cake is safe from the summer sun, make sure you have citronella candles at your reception and that your tent has nearby rest room areas. [Summer weddings are wonderful, but the heat can wreak havoc on your wedding cake.

I found very decorative favor boxes and used them to package the chrome bottle openers we bought for our friends and family as a summer wedding favor. The most beautiful part of our wedding table was our cake with it’s gorgeous wedding cake topper.

While shopping for my wedding accessories I saw this topper and couldn’t resist it. They were customized toppers for the wedding couple. They put our faces on our cake topper, and all I had to do was send them a photo of me and my fiance. How could I ask for a better wedding keepsake than that? Everyone at the reception had something to say about how unique it was. Our crystal champagne flutes and silver cake serving set was just a few of the fantastic accessories I ordered for our ceremony and reception. It’s unbelievable all the lovely accessories you can purchase from you computer.

Everything at the wedding and reception were fantastic. Plan B never had to be used, since the weather was so beautiful, and thankfully it remained that way through the whole evening. We all loved the super DJ and the fantastic job he was doing, and if I’m right, he probably kept the music and dancing going on for quite a while after we left to go on our honeymoon. A lot of good things were said about our wedding ceremony and everyone said they had a fantastic time at the reception. The park turned out to be the perfect place to have our wedding and reception. If we should decide somewhere down the line to have a renewal wedding ceremony, I think I’d like to have it in the park again.

When you’re looking for a unique wedding favor…

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

I debated a long time before deciding on what type of wedding ceremony and reception I wanted to have. I checked on three different themes, beach, garden and country western. Then I thought maybe I should just stick with the traditional type of ceremony and reception. Destination weddings also sounds like a great idea. I thought about the tropical shores of Hawaii or the excitement of Vegas might be a great idea. I would probably go for the Hawaii destination. But I had to give that plan up, too many people wouldn’t be able to travel that far.
But there were a lot of other ideas to work with, including a winter wonderland wedding. But a wedding in July just didn’t seem like the right time to do a winter theme. I decided to go with the last, but not least of the wedding theme ideas, and have a fairy tale ceremony and reception. There were plenty of fairy tale accessories and ideas to work with for the perfect story book wedding. There were even special wedding cakes you could buy that fit in perfectly with the theme. So my decision was made. Cinderella and Prince Charming were getting married.
I had no problem finding the perfect wedding invitations online. Then I started choosing my wedding and reception accessories and supplies. I picked out floor length dresses for the girls in my wedding party, and found an exquisite gown for myself. The groom (my prince) and all of the groomsmen and ring boy wore tuxes that made them all look so elegant and sophisticated. When I walked down the aisle towards my husband to be I really felt like I was royalty. Our wedding ceremony was more beautiful than I could have hoped for. The flowers, the candles, and the gorgeous satin bows on the end of the pews really set the whole thing off. Rose petals were falling all around us as we were leaving the church. Outside we climbed into a gorgeous horse drawn carriage to take us to the reception hall.
A real castle wouldn’t haved looked as good as our reception hall with all of the fantastic accessories and decorations. I found everything to fit the ocassion from decorations to wedding favors. I even found the perfect favor boxes to put each themed wedding reception favor in for our guests. I was amazed at all of the themed accessories there were for our fairy tale reception. They had storybook champagne flutes and little coaches for place card holders. They just have everything I could possibly need for the perfect fairy tale wedding and reception.
Our guests all had a wonderful time and were very impressed with all the lovely storybook décor. One of my guests said it was the most beautiful ceremony she’d ever been too. I have to admit, it was quite special. I think I made the right choice when I chose this theme, and I’m glad I could find so many great accessories to help. I wanted today to be as special for our guests as it was for me and my new husband. Everything at our reception was in a fairytale theme, even our cake, so I wanted themed wedding gifts too. I felt that a momento of this special day would mean more than any other gift I could give them. I wanted to give them something they would look back on with fond memories.
As soon as we returned from our honeymoon, I got started on all the thank you notes I needed to mail out. There was even thank you notes available in storybook theme. I wouldn’t mind having a fairytale anniversary renewal ceremony.

Do your research before choosing cheap wedding favors!

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

I put a lot of thought about the theme for our wedding ceremony and reception. I wasn’t sure if I wanted a beach wedding, a garden wedding or a country western wedding. Then I thought maybe I should just stick with the traditional type of ceremony and reception. I also thought about a fantastic destination wedding. How great would it be to have a ceremony and reception in Las Vegas, or maybe take it all the way to Hawaii? I would probably go for the Hawaii destination. I soon put that idea to rest, there are too many people on our guestlist for a wedding like that.
Then I thought about a winter themed wedding. But since we were getting married in the summer months, I didn’t think I should go with a snow scene. So I decided to go with every young girls dream of marrying a prince, and chose to have a storybook wedding, just like in the fairy tales I read as a child. With all the accessories there are available, I could have the wedding of my dreams. The bakery even had wedding cakes that worked out with my idea. So this was final. I wanted a fairy tale wedding and reception.
Through online shopping I found lovely story book invitations. Next I started checking out all the wedding accessories and reception supplies I would need. My wedding dress was absolutely gorgeous and the bridesmaids and flower girl had beautiful dresses that were floor length. The groom (my prince) and all of the groomsmen and ring boy wore tuxes that made them all look so elegant and sophisticated. As I made my way down the aisle to my handsome prince Charming I felt like I was living a dream. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding ceremony. All of the gorgeous décor only added to the beauty of our ceremony. As we were leaving the church, everyone tossed rose petals and cheered us on. Instead of a limo, we had a horse drawn carriage waiting outside.
There were accessories that helped me to make our reception appear as elegant as a king’s castle. I found everything to fit the ocassion from decorations to wedding favors. I even found the perfect favor boxes to put each themed wedding favor in for our guests. There were so many accessories to choose from to help with our storybook reception. I bought little coaches that made perfect place card holders, and exquisite champagne flutes with a storybook design. They just have everything I could possibly need for the perfect fairy tale wedding and reception.
Some of our guests commented on the themed décor and told us what a great time they were having. One of our guests stated that she’d never seen such a gorgeous ceremony as ours. I have to admit, it was quite special. A fairy tale wedding was a great idea, and it really helped to be able to have such fantastic accessories to choose from. I wanted today to be as special for our guests as it was for me and my new husband. Everything at our reception was in a fairytale theme, even our cake, so I wanted themed wedding favor ideas too. I felt that a momento of this special day would mean more than any other gift I could give them. Something that could hold the memory of today for them as well as for us.
I had a lot of thank you note to take care of when we got back from our honeymoon. There was even thank you notes available in storybook theme. Maybe on our 20th anniversary we can do this again.

Curious about Bell Weddings…

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

There was the sound of wedding bells, the tossing of rose petals, and the traditional run for the limo while friends and family cheered us on. That’s how it was on our wedding day. The wedding ceremony was so beautiful and everything turned out just like I wanted it, thanks to all the super accessories I was able to get. We had the best in wedding accessories and reception supplies to make it all a dream come true.

Everything from the lovely invitations to the fantastic party favors for our guests was in their wonderful collection of wedding supplies. On the front of our invitations was silver printing which added to the elegance of the card. I also ordered from this fantastic choice of accesssories, the ring bearer pillow and flower girl basket, which came as a set. It was a beautiful satin garnet color and included a wedding guest book, pen set and wedding garter. Five items bought as a group, that cost a lot less than you would think.

They also had an aisle runner I really liked, so I ordered that to my list of wedding supplies. We wanted to have a the wedding bell and we loved it! As soon as the wedding ceremony ended and we were leaving the church all the guests rang their little bells in celebration of our union. I thought that was a great idea.

I bought accessories online for our reception as well as our ceremony. They really had quite a collection of gorgeous wedding reception accessories to choose from. I wanted our reception tables to shine with elegance, so the first thing I ordered were the crystal toasting flutes. There were twisted stemmed flutes which I ordered for our guests and a special toasting flute set I ordered especially for the bride and groom for our table. Wedding silver bells really made our tables shine with elegance, and I thought it would be a nice gift for our guests as a little something extra to show our appreciation.

There were so many lovely accessories, that I really wanted to buy them all, but that would have been going a little overboard on the décor. I did order some very nice wedding favors for our guests that were lovely glass table coasters. They had a lovely calla lilie design on them that was absolutely beautiful. I found the perfect little silver favor boxes with thank you tags to package the wedding favors in. The shiny gift boxes added that extra sparkle to our guests tables. On each reception table was a centerpiece I made up of lovely flowers and some very elegant candles.

On a smaller table at the of our long table, was our fantastically designed wedding cake. Chocolate and cherries three tiers high with a very lovely cake topper resting on top. I decided on a beautiful heart with calla lilies and ribbon as our cake topper. Everything at our reception turned out to be perfect. With all the tons of wedding pictures we had, I finally had to order another wedding album to store them all in. There were several pictures of us cutting the wedding cake and feeding that first piece to each other. I have pictures of our friends and family, the ring boy and flower girl on the dance floor together and our first dance as husband and wife.

I’m so glad everyone had such a wonderful time, and I received so many compliments on the decorations of the wedding and reception. I told my husband that I would really like to do this again someday for one of our anniversaries, and he agreed that it’s a good idea.
