Ofer
Gordin was 16 when several, extremely loud
bombs, landed in his home town of Eilat, Israel.
"To the school's shelter...run!" commanded
his father. Ofer remembers the huge flame
from a direct hit, that burnt the neighbor's cars -
only yards away from his apartment. The never-ending
run to the shelter and the realization of how death
can be so close was immortalized into a framedmemory.
The
apartment is Ofer's, the way it was in 1969.
The kid in front is Ofer's brother, age 13,
himself behind, age 16 and his father is on the steps.
